1. Who we are
Slimtrack is made by Slimiot Technologies Private Limited, India ("Slimiot", "we"). This policy covers the Slimtrack tracker, the Slimtrack app for Android and iOS, and the cloud service behind them. For any other Slimiot product, see the main Slimiot privacy policy.
Slimtrack tracks things: a vehicle, a container, a parcel or equipment. The person who signs up and registers a tracker is the account holder.
2. What we collect
Your account: your name and email address and, if you add one, a profile photo; your password, stored only as a secure hash, or the fact that you signed in with Google or Apple. While you verify your email we also keep a one-time code, which expires.
Your trackers: each tracker's IMEI, the name you give it and its Bluetooth address, and which account registered it.
Readings from the tracker: its GPS position and speed, temperature, humidity, air pressure and elevation, light level, vibration, impacts and tilt, and battery level, each with its time.
Your settings: the geofences you draw, the alert limits you set, such as a temperature range, and whether a tracker is inside or outside each geofence.
Your phone: a push-notification token, so alerts can reach it.
The app never reads or stores your phone's location: positions on the map are the tracker's, not yours. On Android 11 and older, Android itself requires the location permission before an app may scan for Bluetooth devices, so the app asks for it when you look for a tracker and uses it only for that scan. We do not collect your contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing activity.
3. What we use it for
To show you where your trackers are, the routes they took and their readings.
To send alerts to your phone when a tracker enters or leaves a geofence or a reading goes outside the limits you set.
To keep the trackers working: registration, Bluetooth setup, battery and connection status, and fixing faults.
To verify your email address and answer you when you contact support.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers. The app contains no advertising or analytics and does not track you across other apps or websites.
4. Who can see it
You, signed in to the app. If another account registers the same tracker, that account sees the tracker's readings too, but never your account details.
Our service providers, only as needed to run the service and not for anything else: our cloud server; Google Firebase, to deliver push notifications; Google Maps Platform, which receives a tracker's positions to fit a route to the roads and to plan directions; OpenStreetMap, which receives a tracker's position when the app looks up its street address; and our email provider, for verification emails.
Google or Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
Authorities, only where Indian law requires it.
5. Where it is stored and how it is protected
The data is stored on servers we control, and access inside Slimiot is limited to the people who run and support the service.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as it exists, and a tracker's readings for as long as the tracker is registered to an account, so you can look back over its routes. When you delete your account, it is deleted at once, as described on the Delete account page.
7. Your choices and rights
See your trackers' readings and route history in the app.
Correct your name or photo, rename a tracker, or remove a tracker, in the app.
Stop alerts to your phone at any time, in the app or in your phone's settings.
Delete your account: see the Delete account page.
Ask us what we hold about you, or raise a concern, by email. We reply within 30 days.
8. Phone permissions
The app asks for Bluetooth, to find and set up a tracker nearby (on Android 11 and older also for location, which Android requires for a Bluetooth scan); for notifications, so alerts can reach you; and for your photos, only if you choose a profile photo. You can turn any of them off in your phone's settings.
9. Children
Slimtrack is for adults managing their own things. It is not meant for children, and it must not be used to track a person without their knowledge and consent.
10. Changes
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
